Capturing the Magic of the Bellingham Figure Skating Club's Christmas Show

The holiday season came alive on the ice at the Bellingham Figure Skating Club's annual Christmas show, Lights, Camera, and Presents. This year’s performance was nothing short of magical, and it was my privilege to be there to capture every dazzling moment through my lens.

With over 280 photos taken and delivered to the club, the event was a celebration of both talent and holiday spirit. From the graceful spins to the joyful smiles, it was clear that the skaters and their families had poured their hearts into this performance.

The Joy of Capturing the Show

What started as a fun and exciting project soon became a labor of love. As a photographer, it’s always a challenge to capture the energy of live events, especially when they involve such intricate and fast-paced movements. But, as with all the best experiences, the effort was well worth it. Every shot told a story—whether it was the sparkle of the ice, the warmth of a skater’s smile, or the collective energy of the crowd.

There were moments when the ice seemed to shimmer with holiday magic, and the skaters truly brought the spirit of Christmas to life. The theme Lights, Camera, and Presents lent itself beautifully to the performance, with bright colors and festive costumes adding an extra layer of charm to an already extraordinary show.

Looking Ahead: Excited for Next Year

As much as I loved this year’s event, I’m already looking forward to next year’s performance. The level of talent on display was incredible, and the energy from the crowd made every moment even more special. It’s an honor to be part of these events, helping to preserve the memories for families, friends, and the community.
